My Story
I was born in London and moved to the Isle of Wight when I was eleven years old, where my parents had a Hotel near Shanklin Old Village.
Art was always a favorite subject at school and it seemed to be the only subject that I excelled in. I was encouraged greatly at The Upper Chine, in Shanklin.. the last school before my launch into the world!
Having practiced Art in many forms over the years I have done many commissions and exhibitions in Oils, Acrylics, Watercolor, Ceramic Painting and Photography. I have taught Art in Schools and until recently taught at home in Wootton Bridge.
My work has gradually become known , and I opened a Studio- a working Art Studio in Wootton Bridge a few years ago, though I have now chosen to work in the freedom of my home... creating and exploring new mediums and forever extending the boundaries.
I have held exhibitions in various places on the Island and have won competitions with my drawing work.
I simply love what I do and thank God for the pleasure I receive myself in the skill He has given me, and have recently invented Wonky Doodle Designs which is based on the idea of where I live and the people I meet. It is a fun take of the Island and a vivid representation of the beauty that surrounds me. I love to see people smile and it makes me happy to do that. My work is scattered across the Island in the form of prints, postcards, mugs and even tea towels, if you would like to know where.. please contact me.
There is also the serious side of my work, where I try and portray the statuesque beauty of the Ethnic races and the joy that often surrounds them, this series I did in soft pastel.
I have also translated my art and photography into card form recently, you can find my many designs on http://wasc.uk/wonkydoodle
There are cards for every event and I will personalise them if you give me notice.
Thank you for letting me share my passion with you and I hope you enjoy the journey through my website. If there is anything I can help you with then please contact me on the contact page.
God Bless & Thank you,
Suezi xx
